Is Survey Junkie a Scam

Is Survey Junkie a scam? Is it another get paid to site that lures people to join but later on doesn’t give enough payout? Before you jump into conclusion, read first my in depth review about it.

Before we jump into the review proper, let me point out that I have always been making reviews about various survey sites. I made this as a passion because I want to impart to everyone my knowledge and experience towards these programs. By the way, if you want to start a legit way of earning, check out the #1 recommended work at home opportunity.

What is Survey Junkie?

Is Survey Junkie a ScamSurvey Junkie is a survey site that offers rewards to its members for every surveys they complete. Basically you are paid whenever you share your opinion about certain products of big brand companies. They have more or less 3,000,000 members world wide.

In this review, I will take a closer look at this company and try to determine whether this is a scam or not. This review is totally unbiased because I do not work for them. I recommend that you read the entire review before thinking about joining this survey site.

How Does Survey Junkie Works?

After you sign up, Survey Junkie will give you tips on how to get started. They will give you a short tutorial that explains the process in the website. After completing your first tour, you will immediately earn your first 25 points. By the way, Survey Junkie uses point system for tallying your earnings.

When you are  just starting, the surveys that you can take are still limited. You need to complete first your profile surveys in order to receive more surveys. Basically, they use your personal information to give you more appropriate surveys to qualify in.

After you have completed your profile, you will get more surveys. There are different surveys that you can take. Most surveys can be finished for 5 minutes to 20 minutes and usually are worth 50 – 450 points. Usually it takes 24 hours before your points to be credited.

Actually out of all the get paid to site that I have tried, this is the simplest one because the only way of earning is through surveys. This is somehow an advantage because its members can focus on just one task which later on will make them good on doing so. On the other hand, it has also a downside because there is a possibility that you will easily get bored since there is no variance in what you are doing.

Aside from surveys, you can also earn from referring your family and friends to the website. In your referral tab, you will see your referral link which you can share to your social media accounts. Just make sure that your friends use your link when signing up so that you will be credited. You can earn 50 points for every successful referral you make.

Helpful Tips:

  • If you want to earn more, there are also other survey sites that they have partnered with such as Mysurvey and Global Test Market. I have also reviewed those sites, so you can check them if you like.
  • If you have not done any activity within 12 months period, your points will be forfeited so better redeem your points as early as possible if you are planning to quit in it.

How to redeem my points?

Like any other survey sites, you can redeem your points into rewards. Basically you need 1000 points before you can exchange your points into cash or gift cards. Survey Junkie states that 1000 points is equivalent to $10.00 or every point is equal to 1 cent.

You can change your points into paypal or gift cards however gift cards are only available for us residents. After you have chosen what you want, you will need to give them your email address. That’s where they will send your reward. You will know that you have received your reward if you will see a pop up window saying congratulations.

How Much Can I Earn?

Right now, I know that you are eager to know how much can you really earn in Survey Junkie. Let me tell you, not that much.

is survey junkie a scam

It is already said by Survey Junkie that you can’t get rich with survey sites. Actually I give them credits for being honest because most survey sites don’t make it clear when it comes to your earning potential. But to give you more evidence, let us have a small computation assuming that you have just joined in the program and spent your whole day answering surveys.

Let us say you have completed 15 average surveys worth 50 points each. I used just 15 surveys because it is not all the time that you will be qualified for one. Most of the time, it is hard to qualify for surveys because some companies are strict with the demographics that they are looking for. So 15 x 50 = 750 points which is equivalent to $7.50. With that amount of money for a whole day of hard work and time spent, I think the earning potential that Survey Junkie offers is really not competitive.

Bottom Line

Survey Junkie is legit. It offers various surveys that you could choose from and you can also earn from referring your family and friends. However, if you are thinking that it can give you enough money then this is not the one for you.

I know that you want to join in Survey Junkie because you are hoping that it can help you earn some extra cash to pay your bills or even your monthly rents. Actually, I was also in the same shoes as yours a year ago. I thought that survey sites is the answer to my problem so I joined in it. At first it was okay because I earned easy money, but later on I realized that it doesn’t give me that much. Even if I spend so much time into it, It still can’t compensate my needs. So I decided to quit.

But I am still thankful that I learned about survey sites, because with them, I bumped into Wealthy Affiliate. It is like an online community that teaches its members how to build their own online business for free. Basically they give step by step blueprint that you can just follow that will help you create your own website and later on earn some money. Right now, I still continue in building my business and so far it is turning well.

  1. I really like your article and the content you talk about. Im always worried about scams online as I’m sure anyone is.

I learned some knowledge from your site that I did not know before, I also really like your theme that you used for your site and the way you displayed your media. So is survey junkie a scam?

    1. Survey Junkie is legit. However, most people who earns little from it often tells that it is a scam. People always think that way. Whenever, they don’t get what they want or what they expect, they already feel that this programs are fraud.

On the other hand, even if Survey Junkie is legit, I still don’t recommend it if you are thinking of making it as main source of income. The time and effort that you give is not compensated enough because of the low payout they give.

  2. Nice little blog you’ve got here, I liked the fact you summed up how it’s not a website designed to make you rich lol. Many people have that misconception when they apply for websites like this and then wonder why they’re not getting paid as much as they expected!

The imagery you used is pretty cool too, the only thing i’d say you can improve more on is try be more brief on certain paragraphs as too much text can get boring for anyone. All in all, nice job though =)

    1. Thanks men. I really appreciate your comments because it will help me make better reviews in the future. By the way, you are right that most people think that when they join survey sites like Survey Junkie, they will immediately get rich. Little the know that this sites, needs so much time and effort before you can see results. Or even if you spend so much time into it, the payout is not that big though.

So with that, have you heard of wealthy affiliate before? It is like a online community that teaches its members to build their own online business for free.

  3. I’ve never heard of Survey Junkie before, but all survey programs I’ve tried I’ve never really made tons of money from. I feel like you give an enormous time to these programs and you get very little out of it. Besides the fact to know to stay away from these kinds of things. Have you ever felt this way before?

    1. I also felt the same way as yours men. Giving time and effort yo things that you thought will help you earn a decent amount of income and appears to be not, truly breaks my heart. Actually, I already quit on survey sites like Survey Junkie a year ago because I realized that it is not worth it. But then, I am still thankful that I bumped in this kind of online job because I learned about wealthy affiliate. It is far way better than survey sites, because I am really building my own online business. Have you heard about it before?

  4. Hi John,

Thanks for the review. Ummmm Survey Junkie is not good then… Even if you completed 15 surveys within an hour, it would take 10 hours a day to earn $75, that’s too little. I’d try if I was out of work and absolutely desperate for money, but it doesn’t look like it’s worth joining, so I’ll stay away.

Thanks again for the great information.
    Ray

    1. No problem men. Reviews like this one should be taken into consideration by those who are thinking to join survey sites like Survey Junkie. Actually, the 15 surveys that I assumed was already safe because it is not all the time that you are qualified with surveys. Most of the companies are strict with the demographics that they want so most often members are screened out. But yeah, you have a point that spending 10 hours before you can earn $75 is still a long time.

That’s why I decided to quit into survey sites and shift into affiliate marketing. Have you heard of wealthy affiliate?

  5. This is the first I’ve heard of Survey Junkie, but I’ve tried other survey sites. Honestly, I never made much money from survey sites and doing it was pathetically boring. I thought my head would implode.

Completing surveys might be a way to make a little change, but it’s not a business. With surveys, all you’re really doing is trading your time for pennies. There are better ways.

If you really want to make money online. I mean like a real full-time income, you’ll need to build a real online business.

    1. I agree with you that survey sites like Survey Junkie is not capable of giving you a business. Although you can earn some extra cash from it, it is still not enough to replace your day time job and help you pay your expenses. You also have a point that you are just spending your time for pennies. And this is somehow not efficient because when you already used your time you can never get it back. So better use it in something that is much more worth it.

You have mentioned about an online business. So what specific business do you have?
