Is Primerica A Scam

This review is all about the Primerica. Do you want to know if this MLM company is legit or just a scam? Are you curious if you can really earn from this opportunity? Well, I suggest that you read this review in order to learn more about it.

Product Overview

Company Name: Primerica

Owner: Arthur L. Williams Jr

Price to Join: $99

My Rating: 6.7 out of 10.0

What is the Primerica?

Primerica is a multi-level marketing company known for selling financial products and services. Basically, they sell life insurance, auto insurance, home insurance and mutual funds. Obviously, you can become a Representative and earn money through this company.

This company was founded in the year 1977. It was founded by Arthur L. Williams Jr. The company also suffered from several lawsuits and it had to set aside $15.4 million to settle allegations.

In this review, I will take a closer look at this company and try to determine whether this is a scam or not. This is based on my honest research about this company. I recommend that you read the entire review before thinking about joining this company.

How Does Primerica Work?

The website of the company doesn’t have a lot of information about the compensation plan and it is always disappointing to find MLM companies trying to conceal information. However, there is plenty of information online about the compensation plan, but I am not sure how accurate it is. I will share the information that I found online, but forgive me if there are any mistakes because it is not taken directly from the company.

You can’t sell financial products without being licensed and that is why you will have to get a license before selling them.

So in the beginning, you will have to focus on learning the skills related to this business like prospecting and recruiting. The company wants you to recruit as many people as you can because they will make more money that way.

Obviously, recruiting will benefit you as well if the people you recruit stay in this business and do well. After you get your license, you will be ready to start selling financial products.

The company pays 95% commission on every life insurance policy that you sell, but you will only earn 25% as a Representative. The rest of the commission (70%) will be paid to your upline and you will start earning a higher commission as you qualify for the higher ranks.

More Information About Primerica

You have to qualify for Regional Vice President so you can earn a maximum commission of 95% by selling life insurance policies. It is not easy at all to qualify for Regional Vice President as you will have to recruit a lot and meet other requirements like getting a security license.

The company also pays overrides starting at Senior Representative. You can earn overrides in the range of 10%-70% depending on your rank.

If someone in your team sponsors new people, then you can also earn money. You will earn the difference between the maximum override of your team member and your own. So if your team member’s maximum override is 10% and yours is 15%, then you will earn the difference, which is 5% in this case.

It should be noted that you will only earn the difference if you are the immediate sponsor or if everyone else in between doesn’t qualify for earning it. If someone in between qualifies, then they will earn the difference. The company also pays for selling other financial products and the commission will depend on the products that you sell.

It is very clear that most of the money from your sales will be made by your upline if you stay at the lower levels. Personally, I think it is unfair for someone in your upline to earn a higher amount than you even when you made the sale.

In my opinion, the compensation plan is not for those who can’t recruit and reach the higher ranks.

How Much Does it Cost to Join?

You will have to pay $99 to join in Primerica. If you want to use Primerica Online, then you will have to pay $25 per month. They will provide you 20 hours of pre-licensing education, which will surely help. I don’t think that the cost of joining is high, but there is no guarantee that you will get your license and earn money.

How Much Can I Earn?

The company has published many Income Disclosure Statements over the years and this is something that I really like about them. It is rare to find more than one Income Disclosure Statement published by an MLM company so we will take a look at these figures.

The company paid an average of $6,088 per life licensed representative. This figure is not the worst, but it is surely disappointing. I am not denying that some representatives made much more money, but it is also true that many made no money or very less. So it is clear that you can’t expect to earn a lot of money from this company if you are not experienced or skilled.

Are there Any Complaints?

Yes, and I have listed some of the major concerns below.

It is strictly commission based.

Company heavily focuses on recruiting.

Bottom Line

It would be foolish to claim that this company is a scam without any strong evidence. They still offer some helpful information on how you can start your own business.

On the other hand, you might struggle to get your license and even if you get it, the odds of earning a lot of money are very low. Nevertheless, I still leave the final decision in your hands. Good luck and choose wisely.

Pros

  • Teaches entrepreneurial Skills
  • Good earning potential if done right

Cons

  • Climb the ranks to earn more
  • Too much competition
  • Support can be improved

I know that you want to invest in Primerica because you are eager to find a new source of income. I also feel that you are already tired of not earning that much from your day time job.

But let me tell you that this type of business is not for everyone. But if you have the passion about recruiting and selling then this can be your thing.

On the other hand, if you are still looking for an efficient and effective way of earning, then you can also look into my personal favorite. My best suggestion would be through making your own online business with a support from community. Basically it is a modern way of making money. And this will enable you to enjoy your working time at home.

Right now, I am on my second year in this community and I am already harvesting the fruits of my labor. So, I want to share my success with you.

  1. I have never heard about this program before.

It is true that there are some legitimate MLM companies on the Internet.

I don’t like MLM business model at all but I am surprised they are willing to pay 95% commission if you become Regional Vice President by selling life insurance policies
    .
That is a HUGE commission and that is a very good thing. But to become one is a different animal.

In my opinion you need to have nerves of steel to be successful in MLM world.

You also need to have great conversational skills, and trying to recruit people is a constant draining of your energy. And that is definitely not for me!

However, thanks for writing an interesting review. It is always good to read a review about the program you don’t know about.
