What is the Youngevity?

Youngevity is a multi-level marketing company that focuses on health and wellness niche. The products that they offer are in the categories of flagship, health, wellness, beauty, care, food, beverage, home, family, and service.

Basically, they offer different Paks like the Digestion Pak that allegedly help in solving specific problems. They also offer the Healthy Body Start Pak 2.0 that claims to contain 90 essential nutrients. This company was earlier known as American Longevity in 1997 when it was founded by Dr. Joel D. Wallach and Ma Lan.

In this review, I will take a closer look at this company and try to determine whether this is a scam or not. This is based on my honest research about it. I recommend that you read the entire review before thinking about joining this company.

How Does Youngevity MLM Work?

Without wasting any time let us take a look at the ways of making money through their compensation plan.

RETAIL SALES

You can earn from the retail sales of the products and the amount that you will earn will be paid weekly. It can pay you 30% commission, which is not the highest. There are other MLM companies that pay 40% or more on retail sales, but still the percentage of commission that this company pays is acceptable.

FAST START BONUS

You will receive a $100 bonus when your personally enrolled distributor purchases a CEO Mega Pak. It is not necessary to purchase this Pak to become a distributor and you will not earn this bonus from every person that you enroll. I personally don’t like this bonus because you might have to convince people to buy an expensive CEO Mega Pak so that you can earn it.

QUICK START BONUS

You can earn a 30% quick start bonus that is paid weekly on the business volume of newly enrolled distributor’s or customer’s purchases within their first 30 days. You can earn this bonus on purchases up to 750 business volume per new enrollee.

RESIDUAL BONUS

This bonus is paid on your personal and group business volume. In simple words, you will earn on your personal sales as well as your team sales.

So you will need to build a downline to earn this bonus. It is paid in the range of 2% – 8% depending on your rank and the size of your downline. You can earn this bonus up to 8 levels deep, but it is very hard to earn on all 8 levels because of the high qualifications.

INFINITY BONUS

This bonus comes after the Residual Bonus. Once you qualify for this bonus, you will be able to earn on more than 8 levels as this pays up to unlimited levels. If you qualify, you will earn 2% Infinity Bonus on every level after your 8th level. Obviously, you will have a finite number of levels in your downline so the earnings from this bonus will be limited.

There are various other bonuses like the Car Bonus that allow you to earn even more money through the compensation plan. But you will not earn certain bonuses or get the full benefit of some bonuses if you don’t qualify for the higher ranks.

The qualifications get harder to achieve as you try to climb the ranks and they depend on your own performance as well as the performance of your team. You also need a certain number of team members at certain ranks to qualify for the higher ranks.

This compensation plan looks profitable at first sight, but it is going to be hard to achieve.

How Much Does It Cost to Join?

There are many enrollment packs and you only have to buy one to become a distributor. The cheapest enrollment pack that I could find for Youngevity is worth $25, which is a fair price in my opinion.

There are other distributor packs that give you many benefits and help you in starting your business, but they are expensive. For example, the Healthy Start CEO Mega Pak 2.0 costs $499.

How Much Can I Earn?

I could not find an Income Disclosure Statement that has been published by the company even though it has existed for around 20 years. There are MLM companies that publish their Income Disclosure Statements and there are companies that don’t.

The problem is that in every company, regardless of whether it publishes an Income Disclosure Statement or not, most people fail to succeed.

The products of this company don’t have strong scientific evidence to support them and it will be difficult to sell.

The recruitment part is not going to be easy as most people who join quit MLM companies sooner or later. I don’t think that your earnings will be substantial unless you are great at selling and recruiting.

Are there Any Complaints?

Yes, and I have listed some of the major concerns below.

This compensation plan is overwhelming.

The pay is low compared to other MLM companies.

Bottom Line

In my opinion, Youngevity is not a scam. They still offer some helpful information on how you can start your own business.

However, it is true that the company needs to provide strong scientific evidence that its products work. The low success rate can also be improved by providing more support to their members. If you have the passion on selling and recruiting then you can take a look into this company.

Nevertheless, I still leave the final decision in your hands. Good luck and choose wisely.

Pros

  • Teaches entrepreneurial skills
  • You can build your own business

Cons

  • Climb the ranks to earn more
  • Support can be improved
  • Plenty of competition

I know that you want to join Youngevity because you are passionate of having your own source of income.  I also feel that you already discovered the earning potential of being your own boss.

But let me tell you that this type of business is not that easy and is quite challenging. It requires patience and determination to pursue the selling and recruiting part.

On the other hand, if you are still looking for an efficient and effective way of earning, then you can also look into my personal favorite. My best suggestion would be through making your own online business with a support from community. Basically it is a modern way of making money. And this will enable you to enjoy your working time at home.

Right now, I am on my second year in this community and I am already harvesting the fruits of my labor. So, I want to share my success with you.

  1. Thanks for your in-depth review of Youngevity MLM. It’s interesting that the company has been around for 20 years yet has no scientific backing for its products. After your research on their difficult recruitment criteria, what is your opinion on why they have been around for so long? Is there something else they are doing that keeps people engaged?

    1. I think what makes them last for a long period of time is the quality of the products that they offer. That’s why people are still engaged with it.
