KnowledgePanel Review
What is KnowledgePanel?
KnowledgePanel allows people to participate in national polls and surveys. They are exclusive as they invite people at random. So, you can’t join without receiving an invitation from them. They keep track of national trends and work with well-known companies. You can not only earn cash payments but other rewards as well for participating in surveys.
This panel has now become part of Ipsos, which is a market research company. It is common for panels like this one to be backed up by a reputed market research company. Honestly, you will find it much easier to trust panels that are backed up by such well-known companies.
They have been around since the year 1999, which makes them one of the older survey websites.
In this review, we will see if this survey website is actually better than the other survey websites. Since this is an exclusive website, I have high expectations from them.
How does KnowledgePanel work?
You need to be a US resident to join this panel. They invite people at random, so you can’t really go out and try to join them. If you are one of the few people who got an invitation, then you can enter the code that they give you and register. You will have to complete a short registration after entering the code.
They will reward you $10 when you complete an introductory survey with them. The amazing news is that they are also available to people who don’t have a computer or internet access. If you receive an invitation and register, then they will provide you a laptop and give you internet access as long as you do surveys on their website.
I have never heard of a survey website that gives you a laptop and internet access if you don’t have them. Some websites only offer $5 at sign up while this website gives you an opportunity to earn $10 after sign up. Teenagers can also work on their website if they get the permission from their parent or guardian. However, certain projects will not be available to teenagers.
They will send you surveys through email. You can expect to receive around one survey per week. You can complete most of the surveys in 10 to 15 minutes. You get 1,000 points for every survey that you complete successfully. The 1,000 points are equal to $1, which is quite low to be honest. They provide you several options for redeeming points such as cash, games, gift cards and merchandise from their online marketplace.
You can’t invite your friends or neighbors to join their panel, but you can invite people from your household.
It doesn’t look like that you will have any problems in doing the surveys that you get invited for. They send personalized survey invitations, so they already know that you are the right fit for the survey. This can save you the time that you would have spent in qualifying for the survey.
The topics of the surveys are several like healthcare, new products, national issues, etc. You can also take part in polls, but it is not clarified if you are offered the polls separately or as a part of the surveys.
There are extra cash rewards when you have to do a survey within a specified time limit or if the survey is longer than usual. However, you will not find enough surveys to keep you busy for a long period of time.
This survey panel is exclusive but that is not a great thing in my opinion. Actually, the fact that this panel is exclusive acts as a disadvantage because a lot of people who want to join can’t join.
They don’t pay more than other survey websites, so you are not getting any advantage here. They also need you to have 25,000 points or $25 in your account before you can redeem for cash or rewards. This is a lot higher than the majority of survey websites. There are complaints about people not getting the rewards and some rewards being unavailable for a long period of time.
In short, this panel is not bad, but it is not great either. You can do one or two surveys per week through this panel, but you can earn more through other survey websites.
How much does it cost to join KnowledgePanel?
It is free to join as they clearly mention it on their website. You just need to get an invitation, which they will send to your address if you are selected. They try to represent a diverse group of people, so they will send invites to people from different backgrounds. If you are one of the lucky few, then you already know what to do.
How much can I earn from KnowledgePanel?
First of all, you get a $10 sign up bonus. The $10 sign up bonus is where the earnings are good. After the initial bonus, you can’t expect to earn much through this website. I know that any survey website can’t be seen as a good source of income, but this website is not even as good as the other websites. The earnings will be lower here than other websites.
Let us do some basic math. They claim that you can expect to get around one survey per week, which will pay you $1 in most cases. So, your monthly earnings would be around $4 if everything goes well. Let us assume that you get around 2 surveys per week just because you fit the demographics of a lot of surveys. Still, your earning would be just $8 per month.
Your yearly earnings could be around $50 if you do one survey per week. Let us assume that you get some extra surveys and make around $60 per year. This is not nothing and can allow you to buy something for Christmas or any other special occasion. However, you could have earned more through other survey websites.
In short, you are barely making money here, but the good news is that you don’t need to spend a lot of time in doing the surveys.
Are there any complaints?
Yes, I have listed some complaints below.
The surveys became more time consuming leading to lower earnings per hour.
I requested a check, and I never received the check.
Conclusion
KnowledgePanel is not a scam in my opinion. I don’t really recommend survey websites, and this website is not close to some of the best survey websites. In short, I don’t recommend joining this website if you get an invite unless you are fine with the low earnings and other issues. The final decision is yours. Good luck.
