Product Overview

Company Name: Maskcara Beauty

Owner: Cara Brook

Price to Join: $199 – $399

My Rating: 6.9 out of 10.0

What is the Maskcara Beauty?

Maskcara Beauty is a multi-level marketing company that focuses on makeup products. It was founded by Cara Brook which is a beauty blogger and makeup artist so it is not surprising that her company focuses on selling makeup. The products are offered in various categories like face, eyes, palettes, skin and collections.

I am not a makeup expert, but the products do seem to offer value. There are many people that claim that the makeup is easy to apply and it allows them to save a lot of time. It was founded in the year 2013 so it is not one of those old MLM companies that have survived for a long time.

In this review, I will take a closer look at this company and try to determine whether this is a scam or not. This is based on my honest research about it. I recommend that you read the entire review before thinking about joining this company.

How Does Maskcara Beauty Work?

Here are the ways of earning money through the compensation plan of this company.

RETAIL SALES

Your earnings from retail sales will depend on your total sales and your monthly personal volume. As an Artist, you will earn only 20% commission on your personal sales. By the way, the requirement for being an Artist is purchasing a kit and paying the $9.95 monthly back office fee.

The new Artists are put under a training period where they have to reach $800 in personal sales to take the next step.

The $800 in personal sales do not reset and you can take your time to reach this number with the help of your enroller. Once you have this amount, you can earn more than 20% commission on your retail sales.

Here is how the retail sales commissions are paid based on your personal sales in a month.

$1 – $399 = 20% paid weekly

$400 – $799 = +5% paid monthly

$800 – $1,999 = +5% paid monthly

$2,000 – $3,999 = +5% paid monthly

$4,000+ = +5% paid monthly

So if your monthly sales are $2,000 per month, you will earn a total of 35% commission (20+ 5 + 5 + 5 = 35), which is equal to $700. It is obviously going to be very hard to reach the higher amount of monthly personal sales.

ARTIST TRAINING BONUS

You need to understand the concept of levels before you can understand on how this bonus is paid. There are different levels in your downline that are formed by your recruits. The people that you directly sponsor are on your first level and the people that are sponsored by them are on your second level and so on.

This bonus pays you 10% on the first $800 from orders placed by your level one enrollee. By the way, you will get help from your enroller when you first join. It can be very profitable if you are able to help a lot of people in reaching their first $800.

ENROLLER BONUS

The company pays 5% – 7% bonus on the commissionable volume of the Artists that sign up under you. The commissionable volume only includes the whole sale price and not the retail price.

LEVEL BONUS

The company pays a percentage of commissionable volume when you reach the rank of Elite Hac-er. You can earn level bonuses in the range of 3% – 5% up to five levels deep.  Level bonuses depend on your rank and higher ranks pay on more levels.

There are other ways of earning through the compensation plan, but the ones that I have mentioned are enough to give you the basic idea.

How Much Does It Cost to Join?

There are two kits that you can choose from if you decide to join in Maskcara Beauty. Here are the kits and their prices.

Basic Artist Kit: $199

Pro Artist Kit: $399

You also have to pay $9.95 monthly back office fee so it will cost you more than $300 in your first year even if you choose the Basic Artist Kit. I think that the cost of joining is certainly higher than most MLM companies.

How Much Can I Earn?

The company has not published an Income Disclosure Statement, but there is no need to look at one to know that most people will have a hard time in this company. There are many reasons for the difficulties in succeeding with MLM companies and this includes building a team.

The products of the company look impressive and they can certainly attract a lot of people. The problem lies with the compensation plan, which is more rewarding for team builders.

There is no way that you can reach the higher ranks and make most of the money without building a big and strong downline. So it doesn’t look like that your chances of earning a lot of money are great.

Are there Any Complaints?

Yes, and I have listed some of the major concerns below.

Sometimes it can take time for the makeup to adjust to the skin giving the effect that the product doesn’t work.

It is hard to build a strong team and without a strong team there is no way to reach the top.

Bottom Line

In my opinion, Maskcara Beauty is not a scam. They still offer some helpful information on how you can build your own business.

The company doesn’t do much to stand out, but you can join if you like the products and think that you can build a strong team. If you feel like the opportunity is not for you, then there are many options out there. Nevertheless, I still leave the final decision in your hands. Good luck and choose wisely.

Pros

  • Teaches entrepreneurial skills
  • Good earning potential if done right

Cons

  • Climb the ranks to earn more
  • Building a strong team is a challenge
  • Support can be developed

I know that you want to invest in Maskcara Beauty because you want to have an alternative source of income. I also feel that you want to have financial freedom.

But let me tell you that this type of business is challenging. It requires great patience and motivation in order to climb the ranks and succeed.

On the other hand, if you are still looking for new source of earning, then you can also take a look into my personal choice. My best suggestion would be through making your own online business with a support from community. Basically it is a modern way of making money. And it doesn’t require any selling.

Right now, I am on my second year in this type of business and I am already enjoying the fruits of my labor. So, I want to share my success with you.

  1. Hi John Rico

Thanks for this review. Maskcara Beauty is not scam but MLM is just not suitable for me. especially have to build a strong team. I have checked out the #1 recomended work at home opportunity, and found it fascinating. I prefer Joining Wealthy Affililate. However, I have a question – When I facing any problems and difficulties, will you or any members in Wealthy Affiliate will help me ? Thanks

    Regards
    Wilson

    • MLM can be a good business but it is not for everyone. As for the wealthy affiliate, yes, anyone can help you if you need something in terms of building your own business.
