What is Trades of Hope?

Trades of Hope Review

Company Name: Trades of Hope

Owner: Elisabeth, Gretchen, Holly and Chelsie.

Price to Join: $5

My Rating: 6.8 out of 10.0

Trades of Hope is a multi-level marketing company that focuses on selling jewelry. They also sell other products such as body products, home décor and kitchen accessories.

Since their focus is on selling jewelry, there are limited products in other categories. They offer earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings just like other companies that sell jewelry.

Some of their products are handmade by women living in countries like Uganda, Bangladesh, India, Nepal and many others. The founders of this company aim to provide an opportunity to women for living a better life. By the way, the founders of this company are Elisabeth, Gretchen, Holly and Chelsie.

In this Trades of Hope review, I will take a closer look at this company and try to determine whether this is a scam or not.

This is based on my honest research about it. I recommend that you read the entire review before thinking about joining this company.

How Does Trades of Hope Work?

There is a very limited information available about the compensation plan of this company on their website. Generally, it is not hard to find the detailed compensation plan of a MLM company, but that is not the case in here.

Nevertheless, here are some of the ways of earning money.

Ways of Earning

  • Retail Sales
  • Team Sales

Retail Sales

You can earn 25% to 33% commission on your personal retail volume. There are MLM companies that allow you to earn as high as 40% or 50% commission from your personal retail volume, but still the commission paid by this company is not bad. You will most likely earn 25% commission when you are just starting.

When you qualify for the higher ranks and start making good sales, then you will be able to earn a higher commission on your personal retail volume.

This is how most MLM companies pay commission on personal retail volume as the percentage increases through higher sales or qualifying for higher ranks.

Team Sales

Your team will play an important role in earning and advancing in the ranks. There is no way that you can advance to the higher ranks without the help of your team. The company pays you based on the wholesale volume generated.

The commissions on team sales are paid in the range of 1% to 7%. You will earn high commissions on higher levels and then the commissions will drop as you go into the deeper levels.

I know that some of you may not be familiar with the concept of different levels in your team. Actually, your team is divided into various levels and the levels in your team increase as more people are recruited.

Your first level is formed by the people that you recruit and your second level is formed by the people that consultants on your first level recruit.

Basically, you can earn commissions on multiple levels as you advance in the ranks.

The company will call you a Compassionate Entrepreneur when you finally join it. You can stay at the rank of Compassionate Entrepreneur by having at least one commissionable order in the last 6 consecutive months.

If you fail to meet this requirement, then you will lose your position in this company. There are various qualifications that you will have to meet as you try to move up in the ranks.

The compensation plan may seem really profitable, but in reality it is going to be very hard to earn money from it.

How Much Does It Cost to Join?

Trades of Hope is doing a promotion and it is allowing people to join by paying $5. You will only get virtual access by paying this amount if you are able to join before the promotion ends.

On the other hand, the company offers the Traveler Kit for joining which will cost you $99.

The kit contains few products as well as business materials. You will have to pay additional money if you want a replicated website and marketing portal, which is free for the first 30 days. After that, you will be charged $13.95 per month.

How Much Can You Earn?

There are many factors that will decide your earnings including your skills, quality of the products, qualifications and so on. You can earn a part-time income if you work hard to sell the products.

On the other hand, it is not going to be easy because of the party model. You will have to most likely buy a good amount of product to showcase at the parties. You may also have to bear the expenses associated with the parties.

Trades of Hope Review

Earning from your team is going to be even more difficult because the company requires you to have $300 monthly personal retail volume.

Your earnings will suffer if you are not able to meet the high monthly requirements. So I don’t think that most people will be able to earn enough money to stay in this business in the long run. However, a few people may earn a lot of money.

Are There Any Complaints?

Yes, and I have listed some of the major concerns below.

  • Most people will earn a low income through this company.
  • The team related requirement is high.

Bottom Line

In my opinion, Trades of Hope is not a scam. They still offer some helpful ways on how you can start your own business. The company also stands for a good cause.

On the other hand, you also need to consider the products that they are offering. If you don't have the passion towards them, then you may find it challenging.

Nevertheless, I still leave the final decision in your hands. Good luck and choose wisely.

  • Teaches entrepreneurial skills
  • Good cause

  • Climb the ranks to earn more
  • Building a team is challenging

How Can You Earn Money Online?

It seems like you want to invest in Trades of Hope because you are already tired of not earning that much from your current job.

But let me tell you that this type of business is not for everyone. If you don't have the passion towards selling and recruiting then you may face some challenges.

On the other hand, if you are still looking for a new source of income, then you can also take a look into my personal favorite choice. My best suggestion would be through making your own online business with a support from community. Basically it is a modern way of making money. What I like about it is that it doesn't require any selling or recruiting.

Right now, I am on my third year in this type of business and I am already enjoying the fruits of my labor. So, I want to share my success with you.

What percentage of profit actually goes to the charities Trades of Hope says it supports?

Carol Frazer - May 7, 2018

It’s easier to start a Non-Profit. A friend and I started a Non-Profit Mission Group through our church. We are a group of people that sew and craft and recycle fabrics and clothes so they don’t go to the landfill. Our start up was $1200. We used the monies to purchase fabrics and sewing machines and notions. We used our own monies and never asked our church for support. We have been a full fledged mission of our local church now for over a year. We have touched lives here in Southwest Wisconsin, and in Romania, Uganda, and places we don’t even know about. We are also teaching sewing classes to the local shelters for men and women so they can learn a trade to be able to get a job and get out of the system. We have received many donations of fabrics, notions, machines, patterns from many people. People generally want to help others, but they don’t know how. It takes people like myself to start mission groups that will help others.

Thank you for writing this article, I have never heard of Trades of Hope before. I have heard that jewellery is a very profitable niche to start selling items in. Everyone wears a piece of jewellery every day right? This party plan idea might work well for some people, but for other people it will not work that well….. I think that I am in the group of people that it just won’t work well for. a personal sales volume of $300 per month sounds really, really high. I don’t think that this is for me. What do you like about your #1 recommendation?

    john rico - March 25, 2018

Actually, it depends on the person on what specific type of business he/she likes. As for the jewelry business, I might say pass on it because of its competitive niche. As per your question, my recommendation is about affiliate marketing. Have you heard about it before?
