It has been around since 2006 and has over 2 million members world wide. Actually there is no fees in joining the company. Basically you are paid for your opinion towards products and services that you try for free.

Maybe you are wondering, why are you paid for using a product that you have not purchased? It is because various companies are looking for new users to generate opinions from them.

In this review, I will take a closer look into Cashcrate and determine whether this is a scam or not. I suggest that you read the entire review before joining this survey site.

WHAT IS THE CASHCRATE

How does CashCrate Works?

Like any other survey sites, Cashcrate offers a wide variety of payment for every tasks you do. But before you can start to earn, you should first check the confirmation email that they sent you. After that they will give you your first $1.00 just for confirming your registration. After you sign up for free, you will be automatically directed to your dashboard page wherein you will see the ways on how you can earn. What is the CashCrate

Here are the ways on how you can earn in CashCrate:

1. Try New Offers

What is the CashCrate

The most common way that you can earn in CashCrate is through trying offers. You can see the lists of offers given under the offers tab. So if you want to complete one, just click on the offer that you want.

It is required that you complete the offer up to the very end and you must provide 100% truthful information. When you are finished, click the submit button and your task is already done.

The average offer payment ranges from $0.20 up to $1.00. There are also higher pay off that ranges from $3.00 up to even $20.00. Seems convincing right? But If you really read the information below each offer you will find out that the higher the pay offs, the more information they need.

2. Take Surveys

What is the CashCrate

You can also get paid by taking their daily survey every 24 hours. The average pay for the survey is $0.50 – $2.00 with estimated time of completion of 10-20 minutes. There are also top surveys that can pay you up to $7.00 but of course have longer time to finish.

Compared to the offers, taking survey is safer because you don’t have to give your important information. However the downside for this is that it takes many times before you qualify for a survey. Most especially if the one you are trying to answer is the higher paying surveys.

On the other hand, you can just answer the lower paying surveys. But you will need to do more of it to make a bigger money.

3. Get Referrals

Another way of earning in Cashcrate is through referrals. Basically the program has two levels. Initially when you invite a friend you will get 20% of what he/she makes. Aside from that you also get 10% of what their referrals make. Let us have an example.

What is the CashCrate

When you invite a friend, you will get 20% of his income, so if he makes his first $20, you will get $4 commission. Plus you will get a bonus of $3 from your friend earning $10. When he invites another 2 referrals you will get 10% of what they are making. So it will be an additional $1 form each referral. So in total you will earn $9 by just referring one friend.

Pretty good money right? However if you would just think it more deeply, It would take you a lot of effort before you can earn this referral money. This are just the best things that you can get if everything will happen according to plan.

How Much Can I Earn?

What is the CashCrate

Let us have a small computation on what can be your potential earning. This is just a hypothetical situation okay? Assuming that you make Cashcrate as your full time job. So maybe you can work 8 hours or 480 minutes a day. You can take more or less 24 surveys. If you multiply it with the average survey payment of $0.50, you will get $12.

Let us also add the offers and referrals that you will make. Assuming that you have completed 3 offers for $1.00 each and you have invited 1 referral that earned $20 for that day. You will get an additional $3+$4 in earning.

So if we sum it all up: $12 + 3 +4 that’s a total of $19 in a day!

If you think about it, it is still lesser compared to your income when you work on a minimum wage.

On the other hand, it is still a good money if you are thinking of using it as an extra source of income and it is an instant extra cash.

How Can I Get Paid?

If you asking on how you are gonna get paid in Cashcrate then it depends on your location and membership status. So if you are a bronze member then you can choose between Dwolla or by Check. Dwolla is basically the same with Paypal and is only available for USA members only. On the other hand, if you are a silver member, you can choose from the 4 options they have which includes Dwolla, Check, Direct Deposit and Paypal.

By the way bronze members are those who have less than 50 active referrals and earns less than $500 in lifetime earnings while silver members are those who have more than 50 active referrals and more than $500.

WHAT IS THE CASHCRATE

Are there Cashcrate Complaints?

Like any other money making programs, there is always a limitation. And that is what everybody should be careful of. So, here is the major concern that I have about Cashcrate.

Hard to Qualify for Surveys

Even though there are plenty of surveys that you can complete, it is still not guaranteed that you will be able to finish it successfully. It is because survey sites like cashcrate are strict when it comes to demographics. If you don’t match with what they are looking for then you will be disqualified.

Bottom Line

If you are still confused if Cashcrate is a scam or not, then let me tell you, Cashcrate is legit. Although the programs are great and has a high potential, you would definitely need to spend much time and hard work before you see results.

And sometimes even if you give that much effort, the payout is still not big to earn you a living. I believe that we should not work harder instead work smarter.

Nevertheless, it is still a good way if you want to earn an instant extra cash.

Pros

  • Easy Tasks
  • Free to Start With
  • Instant Cash

Cons

  • Not a Long Term Investement

Is there other way to Earn Online?

I know that you want to try Cashcrate because you are hoping that it can give be a good source of extra income. I know that you are eager to find a legit way to earn more money to help you pay your bills and expenses. Unfortunately, this is not the answer to your problem.

Actually, I was also in the same situation as yours before. I thought that survey sites is the answer to my financial problems. But I realized that the earnings that I can get is not worth it. I also got discouraged about it because even if I work more hours per day,  I still can’t get the extra earnings that I desire.

Now, your next question is, how can you really make money? My best suggestion would be through building your own online business. Basically it is a modern way of earning at home. It may seem complicated  but there are already training programs online that can help you learn more about it.

Right now, I am on my tenth month in this program and I am already enjoying the fruits of my labor. So, I want to share my success with you.

  1. I have to agree with you on your Cashcrate review. Some of the offers are just not worth it because I am very cautious to whom I give my credit card information. I also do not think that taking surveys at this website is worth the effort.

My major problem with survey sites are that you cannot scale your earnings to the level that you want to.

  2. Thanks for reviewing the cash crate survey system. You just saved me a load of wasted time.
Your calculations at the end of this story are really helpful and we should probably apply your calculations to all of the survey sites.
My interest in this product fell right away when you pointed out that they want credit card details. Not on. Paypal makes me feel safer. Thanks

    1. Sure no problem. I am glad that I have helped you through my review about Cashcrate. The calculations that I made are just assumptions but these are based on personal experience when it comes to answering surveys. On the other hand, not all surveys require credit card details but the higher paying surveys are the ones who need credit card. But for me, I am still not recommending surveys that needs this important information.

  3. Hi John, The concerns you raise about CashCrate are pretty much the ones I had when someone recommended this site to me a few years ago as a way for “newbies” to “earn some money” (as opposed to building a business) online. I agree with you that it makes more sense to use your time developing affiliate marketing skills than trying to earn some petty cash doing surveys.

    1. It is good to hear that there are people who share the same sentiments as mine. Actually I have nothing against with cashcrate but I think that it is not the best way to earn online. Have you heard of wealthy affiliate? It is like an online community that teaches its members on how to build their own online business. By the way, you have mentioned about affiliate marketing. Where did you learn things about it? I would really appreciate it if you share some of your thoughts.

  4. I was thinkingof joining CashCrate but I must admit I did wonder if I could make much money with it. I have joined survey sites before that promised good income but it only paid a few cents. from you review it sounds like CashCrate is just like that. Is it possible to make a resonable amount of money if you only spent an hour a day on it?

    1. It is good to hear that somehow I have helped you by giving information about the Cashcrate. Like you, the number one question I am asking before I join a certain program is how much can I earn in it? Unfortunately, survey sites will not give you that much. About your question, you can still make money in just an hour in Cashcrate but it is not that big though. Personally, I think that you can earn 30 to 50 cents in an hour because most of the time it is difficult to qualify in a survey.

  5. I have heard of cashcrate on my online travels, but had no real idea of what it was.

OH, I do see what cashcrate is all about now! I have seen other programs similar to this, such as Swagbucks that offers rewards for partaking in activities such as online surveys 😀

Cashcrate does sound like a good way to make a little money, but it’s not enough if you’re looking for a solid online income.

Cashcrate will benefit some people, but Wealthy Affiliate looks a whole lot better.

  6. Great review, enjoyed reading it. Not for me spend hours doing menial tasks for what is to me pennies. Defo recommend to some of my English speaking Thai friends. $19 day working from home on their schedule is good income, beats the $8 or $9 they get for a days labor!

  7. Hi, this is very interesting text, completely new to me. So here are some comments and questions by going through your text. In the item 1 you say they pay $3 for the credit card number, so what is next? What are they going to do? Should one do this or not?

In the item 2. Hod do they pay you? Pay Pal?

It looks to me that CashCrate is far better than Clixsense. What do you think?

    1. For the credit card information, it is still up to you if you will give it or not. My point that I want to make is that is you credit card number is only worth $3? I don’t think so. As for the way on how you will get paid, it depends on your membership status and location. If you are bronze member, then you can choose between Dwolla or Check. While if you are a silver member then you can choose from 4 options including Dwolla, Check, Direct Deposit and Paypal. By the way, the Dwolla is just the same with Paypal and is only available for USA members only.

Actually I never heard of Clixsense, but because you have mentioned it, I will get into that, and get back to you after I do my research.

  8. I didn’t know that Cashcrate is still operating. I have heard of it several years ago but I haven’t tried it yet. I was planning to but had no chance of joining in it. Is it a legit way of earning online? I mean I am finding ways on how to earn some extra cash and I read that answering surveys can help me to do so. Have you already tried cashcrate?

    1. Yes, Cashcrate is a legit way to earn money online. But the earnings that you can get is not that much. Like what I always say about survey sites, the pay out you are getting from them is not that enough. Maybe this is because answering surveys is just an easy task that’s why companies pay this low.

I have also tried cahscrate before. Since it’s free to join I tried to join in it. At first it was okay. I was able to answer surveys immediately. Although as times pass by, I get tired of doing the same things. And I also got discouraged with their payments. But if you, want to you can still try it so you can see what is inside. But if ever you feel that it is not for you, I will just be here to provide other alternatives for you to try.

  9. Hey John.
    Great review of CashCrate.
I’ve heard about them before. They’re pretty much just another survey/offer site, huh?
Only difference is that CashCrate’s got a referral program, which is probably the main reason why they’ve been in business for nearly 10 years.
They remind me of a similar program I reviewed before…Project Payday.
    Have you heard of them?

Anyway, great job on the review.
    Cheers.

    1. You are right Julian. Cashcrate has been in the business for more than 10 years because they kept on adding new ways for its users to earn more money. However as years also pass by, several complaints also arise in terms of their users experience. One thing that caught my attention is the rising level of difficulty in qualifying in surveys. I know that they only do this in order to get more valuable information from their members, however, as for the survey takers this is a nightmare.

I have also tried the program myself, and I find it easy in the beginning but eventually it gets frustrating. It is primarily because I am often disqualified on the surveys I take. Even though I am already near the end of the survey, I still get screened out. Although there are consolation points for every survey you are disqualified, It is still not enough to compensate the time and effort that I have given for the survey.

About the Project Payday, I haven’t heard of it before but I doubt if it is a good survey site too. I mean, since I have been experiencing constant screening out in surveys, I started to see all survey sites the same. I hope these survey sites will eventually realize that they need to improve their user experience. In that way, they can help more people who wants to earn extra money.

  10. Gee, is CashCrate still going?

I joined them back in 2008. That was when I was trying to make good money by joining lots of survey sites.

I find this type of work quite frustrating as you hardly ever qualify for a survey, so a lot of time is wasted. I don’t think I ever made more than a few dollars on each of these sites, and it certainly wasn’t worth the hours put in.

    1. Yes, cashcrate is still working. However as years pass by, there are plenty of complaints arising. In terms of being screened out in several surveys that you try to answer. Or even not getting enough surveys to answer.

Like you, I am frustrated with this kind of work. That’s why I spent my time in looking for other opportunities online. And fortunately I have found what I am looking for which is the affiliate marketing.
