Traveling Vineyard Review

What is the Traveling Vineyard?

Traveling Vineyard is a multi-level marketing company. Their story began in the year 2001 when they held their very first-in-home wine tasting. It is not hard to guess that this company mainly sells wine.

There are various varieties of wine available in 3 different categories: red, white and sweet and fizzy. The company also sells accessories such as decanters, chillers and openers.  This company is a member of the Direct Selling Association.

I know it sounds good that you can earn money by selling wines, but it may not be so easy to succeed in this business. I will take a closer look at this business and try to determine whether this is a scam or not. I want you to read the full review before even thinking about joining this company. This review is unbiased and based on facts.

How does Traveling Vineyard Works?

You have to join the company and become a Wine Guide before you can start earning. The compensation plan is very important as it determines whether you will have a great income earning opportunity or not.

However, I was not able to find a public copy of their compensation plan. They have not disclosed every little detail about it and it is not at all a good thing.

I do not know why they are not disclosing information about it and I know for a fact that most MLM companies offer this information to the public. On the other hand, I was still able to find a little about these through their website.

You are paid up to 35% of your personally generated orders in the name of a personal marketing fee. Personal marketing fee is paid to you for your marketing services.

Basically, you are paid 3 times a month on set days. They claim that most of their Wine Guides make an average of $100 per event. They also give incentive trips to those who do well.

I think that every MLM company should disclose everything about their compensation plan so that potential employees can have more information before joining.

How Much Does it Cost to Join?

The cost of becoming a Wine Guide is $174 which includes $99 for the Success Kit and $75 for the first two tasting sets. I think the cost of joining is a little expensive compared to some other MLM companies.

You will get the following in your Success Kit however let me remind you that kit items are subject to change.

  • (2) 5-bottle Tasting Sets
  • Tasting glasses and convenient carrying box
  • 6-bottle wine carrier
  • Business paperwork
  • Sommology kit with tins and cards
  • Marketing materials including brochures
  • Wine accessories

How Much Can I Earn?

Traveling Vineyard has not specified much in detail on how you can earn thus it is very hard for me to say how much you can earn. But then this is a MLM company so I think that it is safe to assume that you can earn from your downline.

So your earnings mainly depend on your personal sales as well as your downline sales. You will also earn on the basis of your level in the organization.

The official website has testimonials of some Wine Guides who have done well, but I do not think that all of them have had a positive experience. This business will obviously be a problem for those people who do not have experience in selling products and recruiting others.

If you are one of those inexperienced people, then you will most likely earn some hundreds of dollars per month for your hard work.

There are obviously people who earn a huge amount of money, but they are on the upper levels of the organization and it is not at all easy to reach those levels.

In the initial months you can survive by selling the products to friends and family, but after that you will need to convince strangers that these products are worth money. In my opinion, earning more than a $1000 per month will be a tough job especially for beginners.

Are there any Complaints?

Yes and I have listed some of the major concerns below.

Like what we have discussed earlier, your earnings is not guaranteed in this type of business. And even though they have provided some support, this is not enough to earn you that much.

Your income still depends on your own skills and experience. Thus for those people who has no prior experience in MLM business, you will have a harder and challenging time in being successful.

Bottom Line

Traveling Vineyard is not a scam and I do not think that this company scammed anyone. However, I still don’t recommend this MLM company.

I am not satisfied with the expected earnings that you can get and I think it would be a big risk if you join without knowing that much from their compensation plan. So I leave the final decision into your hands. Good luck and choose wisely.

Is there Other Way to Earn at Home?

I know that you want to try the Traveling Vineyard MLM business because you are already tired of working 9 to 5. You have discovered the earning potential that you can get from having your own business so you want to invest in it. Unfortunately, this is not the best answer to your problem.

Actually, I was also in the same situation as yours before. I thought that after I join in this type of business, I will earn income from it immediately.

But sadly, there is no such thing as easy money. I need to learn how to sell or even convince other people before I could actually earn. With that reason, I decided to quit in it.

Now, your next question is, how can you really make money at home? My best suggestion would be through making your own online business. This is a modern way of making money. And this will enable you to enjoy your working time at home. Basically, you will earn from just making your own website.

Right now, I am on my first year in this program and I am already enjoying the fruits of my labor. So, I want to share my success with you.

I am an Online Entrepreneur and Civil Engineer in the making at the same time. I am already earning Extra Income and I want to Use this Blog to Share to Everyone what I did.

  1. I was super excited to see their payment plans. They seemed encouraging knowing you can that much without leaving your house.

But the problem is, the one who introduced me to this business has quitted as she has not made a good monthly income yet she spends each month on her account.

I am also having second thoughts about it now. Do you still recommend I keep on even though I don’t know a thing about MLM?

    1. If they offer money back guarantee for a certain period of time then you can try this mlm business. If not then I suggest that you examine first yourself of this is your passion or not.

  2. No Direct Sales company can guarantee earnings, it is no different than any other sales type of position. Just like real estate for example, tons of people fail and tons of people make money. It really all depends on the agent. The same is true with Traveling Vineyard. I am a consultant with The Traveling Vineyard and have been doing this for over a year. I have earned a lot of money but honestly, the real benefits I’ve received are far more stretching that just the money itself. I can’t put a price tag on the value I have in making incredible friendships both internally in the company as well as in my local community. I can’t put a price tag on the value it is to set my own schedule and have the flexibility to work when I want to work, giving me time to spend with my family. It might sound silly but, can I just say private wine tasting events are just plain FUN… like… for real FUN. Almost every event I do, it is normal for my guests of course to be smiling, laughing and having a good time but over and over again they all say this was the most FUN “in home party” they’ve ever been too. It is a rewarding experience to know that I am able to help teach the average Joe about wine, how to pair it with the right foods little tips and tricks to help them along the way and everyone always says how awesome it is that they have learned so much more about wine after an hour and a half than they have at any vineyard they’ve ever been too. Team building is a big part of the plan and there is a joy that you can’t put a price tag on knowing that you’ve been a part of helping another man or women grow personally and in their business. You know what else I really appreciate about TV? The fact that it ISN’T a get rich quick scheme. Yes, there are leaders within the company that are making a very nice living but the average is making an extra $400-$1000 a month that really makes a difference for them and their families all while sharing their love of wine in their neck of the woods. As for compensation plans, it is pretty straight forward with the percentage of sales being compensation for the average joe. Although team building is a big aspect, it is not necessarily the focus at least right off the bat unless the new Wine Guide might be like me and is looking at it both as a part time gig but also looking at it for the future. I always want to know what is the personal goal for each team member. Do you want to ride the wave to the top or do you want to have an excuse to meet new friends and have a Mommy night out? In either case, I am happy to go over the compensation plan. Lastly, if you haven’t experienced a private in home wine tasting event yourself, YOU SHOULD…. tons of fun, tons of wine education and a great sampling of the world award winning wins for you and your friends to taste together!

    1. I really appreciate your time in sharing your experiences in Traveling Vineyard. I agree with you that no direct sales company guarantees success. It all depends on many factors such as your will and determination to strive for being better. For some people, wine products are a good deal and a source of income. But for some, it is not their cup of tea.
This means that every person is different thus we the outcomes should not be compared. By the way, how long have you been in Traveling Vineyard?

    2. Thanks for your review, Shelley. I’m thinking of joining as a Wine Guide and am searching out the experiences of people currently doing so. To me, it seems that this MLM company is different than others since the parties aren’t just selling opportunities but educational in a totally fun way. Who doesn’t want to learn more about wine and taste several? That’s what appeals to me.

Seems that this review is mainly about MLMs in general–they all cost a bit to start (and let’s face it, the $175 includes 10 bottles of wine, glasses, etc so not a surprise) and the income is basically directly related to the effort put into it.

      Thanks again.

  3. I have heard a little about Travelling Vineyard but never really look deeper into it. As I’m always in the look out for business opportunities, so there’s no harm of me reading all about this MLM company in your article. Firstly I would say there might be a huge market for it as I’m sure the market for wine lover out there is not small. It’s a lucrative business if you are a wholesaler. But if you are just a member of an MLM company , that I’m not so sure until you join them. Again the compensation plan has got to be justified according to the investment or effort that you put in. It’s better to read their terms and condition properly before joining prior to joining so that you won’t create a bad image for yourself by asking your family or friends to join you. Great review. Thanks.

    1. I totally agree with you. MLM companies is still a way to earn money. However, this is not a business that is suitable for everyone. People should definitely look into the terms and condition of the company before joining in it. In this way, you will not blame anyone if anything goes wrong. By the way, have you tried joining in MLM companies before?
